Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.
Officers then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report initial examinations show the substance was likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for information.
An important political figure commented the attack left him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
